The Down Low on High Waisted Jeans

Screen Shot 2018-04-12 at 9.55.50 AM If you've done any jean shopping recently, you know we are seeing more and more high-waisted, vintage denim cuts. Some are having a hard time jumping on the "mom jean" trend, but here is what I love about it.
  1. High waisted jeans accentuate flattering, natural curves. They highlight the waist, the slimmest point of your figure, and they bring you in if you have some tummy you want to tuck in.
  2. They pair oh-so-well with crop tops and knotted tees, which are fun trends to play around with right now.
  3. If you style them correctly, they can lengthen your legs, especially in a wider cut than the more common skinny jeans we tend to gravitate toward these days.
In other words, these styles celebrate female figures of every shape and size. Who needs more of a reason to get on board? A few other jean trends that I am loving right now are chewed hems, stepped hems, and embroidery. Check out a few of my favorites from the shop. Transition Must Haves

Dressing for the weather can get kind of tricky this time of year. You put on a sweater in the morning and by late afternoon you wish you were in short sleeves. Here are a few rules I fall back on in late winter and early spring to keep more comfortable in whatever I'm wearing (with a jacket always close by). Warm weather is always a fun time to branch out to more colors and more prints. A time to brighten up and get a little more personality into your wardrobe. Now is a good time to start easing a little bit more fun into your outfits with easy prints and new shades.
Lightweight, long-sleeve shirts and cardigans work well this time of year because they cover you up but don't trap in too much heat.
As always, here are a few current favorites from my shop that are so great for this time of year. The florals with long sleeves give you a hint at upcoming spring without being too cold! TransitionPiecePost

Stripes Forever

Guys, stripes are timeless. What I have learned from following fashion trends for years is that stripes aren't going anywhere. Polka dots go in and out of style, but stripes are here to stay. Currently we're seeing them in all directions, not just vertically. I love to branch out and break fashion "rules." Another big stripe trend is the vintage, muted look you can find everywhere. In my opinion, you usually can't go wrong with stripes. Here are a few favorites I've seen.
